Flowers for Polimoda graduation in Florence — laurel wreath and bouquet
If someone is completing their studies at Polimoda in Florence, a laurel crown or bouquet can be a personal way to celebrate. For families visiting from abroad, planning the handover ahead of the day makes the gift easier to organise.
The laurel wreath: an Italian tradition worth knowing
In Italy, the laurel wreath is the symbol of academic achievement. It appears in graduation photos across generations — a simple, recognisable object with deep symbolic roots. If you come from outside Italy and have never encountered this tradition, it is good to know that bringing a laurel wreath to the graduate is one of the most common and appreciated gestures at Italian graduation ceremonies.
For someone who has come to Florence from abroad, a laurel crown can become part of their memory of the city. It is a personal gift choice, rather than a statement that the school requires this tradition.
What to choose for a fashion student
Think about the graduate's own style: colour, proportion and small details may be important to them. Choose a design they would enjoy rather than assuming every fashion student wants the same look.
For someone who studies fashion, the most appreciated versions tend to be those with something extra beyond the classic wreath: a few seasonal flowers, berries, or a more contemporary coroncina with mixed blooms. That said, a classic wreath — well made with real laurel and a ribbon — has its own timeless elegance that never goes out of style.
If you also want to bring a bouquet, you can be a little bolder than you might for a formal occasion: vivid colours, less conventional arrangements, seasonal flowers combined in unexpected ways. In the studio we are used to thinking this through — tell us the atmosphere you want to create and we will find the right solution together.
Coming from outside Florence? Here is how it works
If you have travelled to Florence for the celebration, collection from the laboratory can be practical. Book an appointment at Via Mario Roselli Cecconi 29/r–31/r; it is not a walk-in shop and you cannot simply collect at any time.
Delivery is included for normally served Florence city addresses on available working days. If you are considering a ceremony venue, contact us to check access and feasibility before buying.
When to order
When many celebrations take place on similar dates, planning ahead helps organise materials and confirmed orders. Three or four days is sensible for a known graduation date, especially for a specific design. Availability still needs confirmation; ordering early is not a guarantee of every flower or decoration.
Delivery and collection: plan before the ceremony or celebration
Allow at least 24 hours; 48 hours or more is recommended around busy graduation dates. Delivery operates Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays, to served Florence addresses. Same-day delivery is not available. A morning or afternoon preference is a request, not a guaranteed exact time.
Collection from the laboratory at Via Mario Roselli Cecconi 29/r–31/r is by appointment. Use RITIROBOTTEGA at checkout to deduct the delivery component and agree when to collect. An automatic Shopify estimate does not confirm your appointment.
